Thermo Scientific Niton Mining Analyzers

Niton XL3 measuring a rock faceHandheld Thermo Scientific Niton XRF analyzers were designed for the simultaneous multi-element analysis of mining samples including ores, soils, sediments and cores, concentrates, heads and tailings, coatings, and filter media, allowing for quick and easy delineation of ore boundaries, process adjustments, and much more.

Thermo Scientific Niton XRF Analyzers

Today's intelligent solution for the mining and exploration industry, from junior companies to major mining producers.

Niton XL2 Series

  • Niton XL2 analyzing a seam on a mine face undergroundIdeal for grade control, plant operations, and near-mine exploration
  • Standard analysis range of up to 25 elements
  • Rapid results for confident decision making

Niton XL3 Series

  • The flexible choice for both exploration and mining
  • Optional CCD camera and small spot feature for individual grain analysis
  • Upgradeable to Niton XL3 GOLDD Series

Niton XL3 GOLDD Series

  • Outstanding performance for advanced exploration, with lowest detection limits
  • Light element detection (Mg, Al, Si, P, S)
  • Highest sensitivity and measurement accuracy; shortest possible testing times

Purpose-Built Elemental Analysis for Mining and Exploration:

Thermo Scientific Niton analyzers have been designed to maximize productivity. Assaying samples in the field significantly reduces the cost, time, and labor involved in exploration and survey activities. These instruments provide geochemical data within seconds, which can mean immediate ore flagging, avoidance of lab turnaround delays, and rapid delineation of ore boundaries. Upgrade to our Niton XL3 GOLDD Series to accurately quantify light elements such as magnesium, aluminum and silicon.

Weighing approximately 3 lbs (~1.3 kg) and made of durable LEXAN® plastics, these instruments are the ideal tools for obtaining real-time geochemical data in the field. Thermo Scientific Niton XRF analyzers provide users with real-time elemental sample analysis directly at the mine face, from bagged samples during survey or drilling operations, or from prepared samples.   The Extend-a-Pole telescoping extension pole improves ergonomics to minimize fatigue when in the field measuring hundreds of samples per day.
