Thermo Scientific Niton XL3 Series XRF Analyzers
Handheld Thermo Scientific Niton XL3 Series x-ray fluorescence (XRF) analyzers combine proprietary electronics with an ergonomic design and easy-to-use software, transforming XRF analysis. It is the only handheld XRF analyzer platform to offer you a choice of excitation sources – either a 50 kV miniaturized x-ray tube in the Niton® XL3t for the ultimate performance and flexibility, or the patented Infiniton™ radioisotope source in the Niton XL3p, which never requires source replacement. From the integrated, tilting, color, touch-screen display to the customizable menus for ease of use, both lightweight Niton XL3 XRF analyzers provide you with heavyweight performance and a set of features engineered to improve your productivity and profitability.

Niton XL3 XRF Analyzer – Simply Superior
In 1999, we introduced the first high-performance, isotope-based handheld XRF analyzers. Three years later, we pioneered the use of miniaturized x-ray tube technology in a handheld XRF analyzer. Since then we have worked to combine industry-leading expertise with our extensive research & development resources to produce the Niton XL3 family of XRF analyzers.

With either instrument, you'll get the following standard accessories: integrated Bluetooth™ and USB communications for direct data transfer to the user's PC; locking carrying case; shielded belt holster; two eight-hour, rechargeable lithium-ion battery packs; battery charger; reference samples/standards; and the Niton Data Transfer (NDT™) software suite.
Further, we have now combined XRF and GPS into our award-winning Niton XL3t Series XRF analyzers, making the instruments even easier to use and helping users obtain coordinates at even the most remote locations. With integrated GPS, you are now able to record longitude and latitude or UTM coordinates at the same time you perform geochemical analysis.
Available options and accessories (varies by application and product) include our Thermo Scientific GOLDD technology, internal CCD camera for visually identifying & recording images of samples; a user-selectable 3 mm small spot that collimates the x-ray beam for small painted areas when testing toys for lead, components on printed circuit boards, pipe and container welds, and mineral inclusions on rock faces or drill cores; a variety of test stands; the Thermo Scientific Extend-a-Pole for in-situ soil and Greenfield surveys; and the Thermo Scientific Hotfoot hot surface adaptor, which extends the ability of the Niton XL3 to test in-service components in petrochemical refineries up to 842°F (450°C).
With more than 35,000 portable XRF analyzers installed worldwide since 1994, it is not surprising that most users in the recycling and mining segments are achieving a return on investment measured in several months, while many report that they've paid for the cost of the instrument in weeks, and some in as little as one day. Similarly, if you're in the petrochemical industry, you can reduce risk through alloy verification, or, if you manufacture toys and other child-accessible products, you can use our instruments to drive toy testing compliance with global regulations.
