The Thermo Scientific Niton XL3t XRF Analyzer
The Thermo Scientific Niton XL3t handheld x-ray fluorescence (XRF) analyzer combines proprietary electronics with an ergonomic design and easy-to-use software, transforming XRF analysis. It does this through reduced measurement times, increased precision, and lower detection limits than you could previously achieve with portable x-ray fluorescence analyzers. From the integrated, tilting, color, touch-screen display to the integrated GPS, to the customizable menus for ease of use, the lightweight Niton® XL3t XRF analyzer provides you with heavyweight performance and a set of features engineered to improve your productivity and profitability.
In 2002, we pioneered the use of miniaturized x-ray tubes in a handheld XRF analyzer, and have combined industry-leading expertise with our extensive research & development resources to produce the Niton XL3t Series. Equipped with a 50 kV x-ray tube, it offers you several distinct advantages over our previous models. Specifically, the 50 kV x-ray tube provides:
- Approximately 2x the x-ray flux of a 40 kV x-ray tube
- Lower detection limits for higher Z elements, including barium in soils & sediments, and cadmium in plastics, especially in the presence of tin and antimony-based fire retardant materials in plastics
- Shorter measurement times
Niton XL3t XRF Analyzer – Simply Superior XRF
With the Niton XL3t XRF analyzer, you get the following standard accessories: integrated Bluetooth™ and USB communications for direct data transfer to the user's PC; embedded GPS for obtaining longitude and latitude or UTM coordinates; locking carrying case; shielded belt holster; two eight-hour, rechargeable lithium-ion battery packs; battery charger; reference samples/standards; and the Niton Data Transfer (NDT™) software suite.
Available options and accessories include our Thermo Scientific GOLDD technology, internal CCD camera for visually identifying & recording images of samples (standard on the Niton XL3t GOLDD+); a user-selectable 3 mm small spot that collimates the x-ray beam for analysis of small, painted areas of toys, components on printed circuit boards, pipe and container welds, and mineral inclusions on rock faces or drill cores; a variety of test stands; the Thermo Scientific Extend-a-Pole™ for in-situ soil and Greenfield surveys; and the Thermo Scientific Hotfoot hot surface adaptor, which extends the ability of the Niton XL3t to test in-service components in petrochemical refineries up to 842°F (450°C).
